Waldon “Don” W. Meeks, Jr., 83, of Columbus, Ohio was welcomed into the arms of Jesus, on May 21, 2023.
He was born in Columbus, Ohio to the late Waldon and Laura (Lewis) Meeks, Sr.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; son, David L. Meeks; step son, Steven D. Bennett; previous spouse, Carol J. Meeks; and brother, Larry Meeks.
Surviving family includes loving wife of 18 years Mary L. Meeks; children, Donald Eric Meeks, Dianne Reed; step children, Phillip (Vickie) D. Bennett, Laura (Burl) M. Whaley ; grandchildren, Evan Reed, Marie Meeks; sister-in-law, Joy Meeks; brother, Tom (Sally) Meeks; sisters, Ann (Larry) Allen, Deb (Glenn) Lees; and many nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; special friends, Ray (Sue) Browning and Loving dog, Toby.
The family would like to especially thank his close friends and family; as well as, members at the Karl Road Baptist Church, Riverside Methodist Hospital ER and James Cancer Hospital; Dr. Andrew Grainger, Dr. James Blachly, and the Columbus Fire Department.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 5, 2023 at 11:00am at Karl Road Baptist Church, 5750 Karl Rd, Columbus, Ohio, 43229.
In addition to flowers, donations may be made to the Karl Road Baptist Church or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in Don’s name.
