Betty May Lightfoot 94 of Columbus passed away Monday May 15th, 2023 peacefully in her home. She was born June 24th, 1928.

Betty was a person of faith. Betty loved her family and neighbors. Betty loved to knit, making handmade booties for every baby. She also enjoyed making hard tack candy with her daughter-in-law Brenda and baking breads.

Betty loved Square Dancing, attending fairs and the pumpkin show. She was an avid Buckeye fan and a lover of all pets, especially Shih Tzus and her cat Goldie. She loved Doritos and Little Kings. She was an avid reader of Danielle Steel books. She enjoyed always looking nice, getting her hair and nails done. Some of her favorite things were watching basketball with her son David, doing word searches, cooking for her family and sitting outside soaking up the sun.

Betty was a devoted wife, married for 70 years, (March 12th, 1949). She was a mother, grandmother, as well as a great grandmother.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents Hazel and Robert Stauffer, her husband Harfey Warnock Lightfoot, her daughter-in-law Brenda Salyer Lightfoot, and her granddaughter Aimee Hardin.

Betty will be missed by her children David Lightfoot, Gary Lightfoot (Tucker), and Patricia Hardin (Ronald).

She will also be missed by her grandchildren, Darren Lightfoot, Dana Lightfoot (Ricky), Amy Smith (Brad), Jason Hardin (Katie), Matthew Hardin, Lindsay Rothgeb (Donald); Great grandchildren, Jordan Wholaver (Dylan), Maggie Smith (John Paul), Wade Wholaver, Quinn Hardin, Keegan Hardin, Kevynn Hardin, Kalista Hardin, Justus (Greene) Hardin , and Vera Lightfoot. Also, Great Great grandchildren Ella Wholaver and Miles Smith.
