In Memory Of
Mark S. Watkins
1961 - 2023

Mark Stephen Watkins, 61, born Aug. 3, 1961, passed away July 7, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Watkins and Shirley Wood; and brother, Jeff Watkins. Mark is survived by daughters, Stephenie (Ryan) Ward and Barbara (Jimmy) Johnson; brothers, Ron (Manomi) Watkins and Doug Watkins; three grandchildren, Aaron, Eden, and Enoch; niece, Jennifer (Kevin) Watkins White; nephew, Charles Watkins; and close friend, Terri Keaton.

Mark served in the United States Army from 1980-1984 and was an awarded rifleman.

Mark enjoyed being in the outdoors doing things like camping, hiking, fishing, hunting and avoiding big foot. He spent many hours entangled in books and always carried his nook with him, just in case he got the chance to read a few pages throughout his day.

Mark was also a collector of Native American artifacts including arrowheads, pictures, blankets, musical instruments and jewelry he had acquired over the years. He always leaned into his Native American heritage and would learn about the history and customs every chance he got. Frequently at his home you would hear the sound of flutes, drums and shakers mixed with Native chants.

He was a carpenter and certified locksmith for Mt. Carmel hospital systems for over 20 years. He took pride in the work he did there from fixing locks and doors to the wooden crosses he had made to be hung throughout the hospital.

Memorial Gathering Friday, July 28, 2023 from 5-7pm, at Newcomer, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH.
