Scott "Mikey" Pernell, age 41, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his residence in Reynoldsburg, Ohio on February 11, 2024.

Scott attended Westerville North High School. He also attended the Fire Service School at the Northwest Career Center. He was a longtime restaurant server who genuinely loved serving people. Scott had a tremendous love for his family and was always willing to help someone in need. He loved baseball and played in a league up into his mid-teens, which turned into a lifelong hobby of collecting sports cards. He invested a great amount of time organizing and acquiring them. Scott loved Ohio State and Pittsburgh Steeler football on the weekends and was a lifelong fan of both. He was engaged to Trisha Edwards and baby Elliana was born on January 23, 2024. He also loved and adored Trish’s 3-year-old son, J.J. His plan was to adopt him in the future.

Scott was preceded in death by his father John Pernell, Sr., grandfathers Clarence "George" Hinkle, Skeeter Pernell, Joseph Fodey Jr., and grandmother Barbara Fodey. Scott is survived by his mother Debby Fodey, stepfather Joseph Fodey, son Hayden Pernell, daughter Elliana Pernell, brother John Pernell, Jr., sister Brady Pernell, grandmothers Maxine Hinkle, Carolyn Pernell, nephew Jeremiah Fodey, niece Savannah Pernell, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 5pm to 7pm at Newcomer NE Chapel 3047 E. Dublin Granville Rd. Columbus and Friday, February 23, 2024 from 12pm until the time of service at 1pm at the funeral home with the Rev. Ken Skaggs officiating. The burial will follow at Northlawn Memory Gardens in Westerville, Ohio.
