Alma Ruth Smith, 74, passed away on April 30, 2014 in Columbus, OH surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 7, 1939 in Greenville, MS to J.B. and Rosetta (Hemphill) Jennings.
Alma is preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, O.Z. and O.C. Jennings.
She is survived by husband of 53 years Albert James Smith Sr.; children, Ronald (Shelly) Smith, Gene (Yolanda) Smith, Guinese (Mike) Wade, Priscilla Sharp, Cynthia (Tracy) Scott, Sherri Smith, Brenda Purnell, Regina Smith, and Albert (Tiffany) Smith Jr.; 49 grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Georgia Golden and Brenda (Robert) Burrell; and a host of other family members and friends.
A visitation for Alma will be held on Friday, May 9, 2014 from 10:00am-12:00pm followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus, OH 43231. She will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery following the service. A Repass will be held at Praise Temple Church, 3618 Bethesda Ave. Columbus, OH 43219 following the burial.
