Alton Charles

Alton Charles, 88, of Columbus, passed away on July 20, 2025 at 5:05pm. He was born in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Golden and Ethel (Morrison) Charles. He married Barbara Allen and he preceded her in death on April 10, 2025, after 57 years of marriage.

Those left to cherish Alton’s memory includes son, Tony (Mindy) Charles, grandchildren; Allison (Tony) Nolan, Heidi Ann (Grayson) Wimburn, Sara Charles, Cassie Charles; and many nieces and nephews, family members and friends.

Along with his parents and loving partner, Alton is preceded in death by his siblings, Bill Charles, Homer Charles, Russell Charles, Denny Charles, Donald Charles, Sonny Charles, Josephine Clime, and Lorraine Rector.

Alton served as an Apco Siding installer for over 50 years. When he wasn’t at work, Alton loved to be in church, tinkering in the garage, mowing the lawn, and visiting with friends and family. He was a Trustee for First Calvary Enterprise Baptist Church.

Immediate family will greet friends and family from 2pm to 5pm, Saturday, August 2, 2025 at First Calvary Enterprise Baptist Church, 2425 Midland Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43223
