Angiel [Angie] Quaintance, age 91, of Lancaster, OH, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital, surrounded by loved ones.
Angie filled every room she entered with warmth, laughter, and the occasional dog hair. A dog groomer by trade and an animal lover by nature, she had a gift for making both creatures and people feel at ease. Her home—a cheerful clutter of antiques, music, family, and friends—was always open. There was usually a pot of something delicious on the stove, a piano waiting to be played, and good advice available upon request (or sometimes without it).
She found joy in the simple things: digging in her garden, exploring for treasures at antique shops and auctions, or taking long country drives to appreciate the changing fall colors. Angie had an uncanny ability to make people feel like the most important person in the room. To Beth, she was a steady compass and guiding light; the foundation of everything good.
Angie is survived by her child, Betheny (Beth) Swinehart (Kurt) of Columbus, OH; grandchildren, Bridgette (Criag) Turnbull of Tulsa, OK, Andy Quaintance (Holly) of Worthington, OH, and Nora Swinehart of Columbus, OH; great-grandchildren, Josh Turnbull, Trevor Turnbull, Willow Quaintance, Lillian Quaintance, and Esmae Quaintance; sisters, Naomi Arnold of Louisville, KY, Miriam Asher (Roy) of Lancaster, OH and Beulah Huston (Wayne) of Doylestown, OH; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Maurice Welch; her mother, Dorothy Welch; her husband, William (Bill) Quaintance; and her bonus children, Jereth Craig and Timothy (Tym) Quaintance.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, from 2:00-4:00 pm, followed by a funeral service from 4:00-5:00 pm at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Northeast Chapel, 3047 E Dublin Granville Rd, Columbus, OH 43231. Angie chose to be cremated with no burial to follow. In lieu of flowers, consider donating to the CHA Animal Shelter, 3765 Corporate Dr, Columbus, OH 43231 or spend time with someone you love.
