Annie Mae Mallett Jones of Urbancrest, Ohio died November 10, 2014 at age 88. Annie Mae was born September 9, 1926 in Jackson, Mississippi to parents William Louis and Anna (Mitchell) Mallett. She was a graduate of Lanier High School, Jackson, MS and of Columbus Technical Institute. Annie Mae was a compassionate social worker employment counselor for CMACAO for over 26 years, longtime member of Union Baptist Church, gospel music lover and traveler. Her kindness, loving smile and unassuming manner in which she served others endeared her to many over her long life. Annie Mae was preceded in death by her father, mother, brothers Robert Lee and James, sister Lucille, and Joseph I Jones. She is survived by her five daughters, Barbara Woodson, Yvonne Chambers, Gloria Walker, Chigoke Adoma, and Deborah (Marvin) Pickett. Nine grandchildren, Brian (Tamra)Jones, Renetta Scott, Cicely Woodson, Dawn Walker, Sydnie Walker Jones, Osei II (Camille) Adoma, Kumasi (Fabio) Lapponi (Adoma), Taisha (Craig) Wirkner (Pickett), Tamara (Cassiel) Smith (Pickett), and seven great-grandchildren, Bradley, Gabrielle, Osei III, Sage, Cameron, Colin, Blake and Gabriel, a devoted cousin, Clarence Sampson, and a host of loving relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held at Union Baptist Church in Urbancrest between 10 and 11am, on Monday, November 17, 2014, with a homegoing service immediately following visitation at 11am.
