Aretha "Ree" M. Woods

Aretha (Ree) Mae Woods, 54 years of age, transitioned from this life on May 23, 2025. At Riverside Methodist Hospital, surrounded by her loved one’s. Aretha was born August 17, 1970, in Columbus Ohio. She is survived by her loving mother Della M. Miller; beloved husband Gennareh Woods and sister Kadie Miller. Her daughter’s Cearia Engram (Marvis) Ashlee Butler, Gennareh (Gee) Woods Jr., Siamia Woods, Brittany Reeder; Goddaughters Tatricia Hawkins and Kateyana Stevenson. Grandchildren; Camille Knight, Cameron Grogg, Melody Engram, Mylah Engram, Lailani Castaneda, Lola Castaneda, Armoni Woods, Jaylea Woods, Josiah Smith, Saniyah Brown, and Gennareh Woods III. Special Niece, Katlyn Blair.

Aretha’s love for her grandchildren was beyond measure and she often referred to them as her “little bears”. She always made time for them all. And they knew that her love to them was unconditional.

Proceeded in death, Maternal and Fraternal grandparents; Father William M. Miller; brother William (Billy) Miller II and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins; and many devoted friends.

Aretha was employed at Eastland Performance Academy, for 18 years as the Office Administrator. Where she was highly regarded by the management, teachers, staff, and students.

Aretha was a devoted follower of Christ and set a stellar example of a Christian as a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
