Arvelia Sellers Moore, age 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at her residence in Columbus, Ohio. She was born in 1942 in Keiser, Arkansas, to Frank Sellers and Herbert Sellers Durr.
Arvelia was preceded in death by her mother, Herbert Sellers Durr; stepfather, George Durr; father, Frank Sellers, Jr.; brothers, Frank Sellers III and Alfred Sellers, Sr.; sister, Bernetta Sellers; and an infant son.
A proud graduate of North High School, Class of 1961, Arvelia continued her education at Bliss Business College and The Ohio State University, ultimately earning her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Franklin University in 1979.
Over the span of 47 years, Arvelia dedicated herself to a wide and accomplished professional career. She retired from Xerox Corporation after 25 years of loyal service. She also worked with the United States Postal Service, Columbus Southern Electric Company, ALP, and several other organizations, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues everywhere she served.
For more than 46 years, Arvelia was a devoted member of Travelers’ Rest Baptist Church, where she served faithfully in the Sunday School and the Sound Room Ministry. Her devotion, steady presence, and warm spirit touched many lives within the church and throughout the community.
Arvelia leaves to cherish her loving memory, her daughters, Dena A. Moore and Felicia (Anthony) Golden; sister, Marcia Johnson; grandchildren, Damen Hill, Madena Hill, Robert Hill, Jr., Olivia Golden, and Anthony Golden, Jr.; great grandchildren, Jaiden Golden and Ashton Golden. She also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and lifelong friends who will continue to honor her legacy.
Arvelia will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her deep love for her family, and her generous, giving heart. Her life was a testament to strength, grace, and quiet perseverance. Though she will be deeply missed, the light she brought into the world will continue to shine through those who loved her.
