Avanell Barker, age 87 passed away at Doctor's West Hospital on Saturday, July 30, 2016. She was born in Lacey, KY on February 14, 1929 to the late Robert and Sola Russell.
She attended the Memorial Baptist Church for many years. Avanell enjoyed spending time gardening and cooking, she truly loved spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Barker, and grandson, John Cavendish. She is survived by her children, Charlotte (Paul) Cavendish, Gary (Noreen) Barker, Shelia Ison, and Ron (Peggy) Barker; grandchildren, Michelle (Matt) Jurcich, Josh (Dotty) Barker, Amy Barker, Stacey (Michael) Howard, Randy (Lori) Ison, Jodi Potter, and Jackie Ison (Craig); sister, Anna Himes; brother, Willis Russell; numerous great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 pm, Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, S.W., 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123, where the funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, August 5, 2016.
Internment will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday August 5, 2016 at Evergreen Union Cemetery in Waverly, OH.
