Barbara "Barbie" Breckenridge, age 81, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016, with her loving family by her side. Barbie was born in Columbus, Ohio on November 2, 1934 to Ross and Mildred (Bohn) Allen. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving family includes children, Debbie Cansler, Cheryl Foley, Jeff (Ann) Breckenridge, Carol (Robert) Ellis; grandchildren, Gabriel Campbell, David Chapman, Brandon Foley, Amanda Breckenridge, Mikayla and Maliyah Ellis; six great-grandchildren with one more on the way; brother, Walter (Judy) Allen; many other family members and friends who will miss Barbie deeply.
She worked for the Columbus Police Department for 30 plus years. She was an auxiliary police officer. Barbie was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan. She enjoyed going to Vegas and playing bingo.
The family would like to send a thank you to Hospice Services at Methodist Elder Care with a special thanks to Melissa, Bettina, Ann and Terry. We couldn't have done this without them.
A memorial gathering will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home and Crematory, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH.
