Forever Loved, Forever an Angel

Barbara Russolillo Caborn, 78, passed away October 14, 2026, in Detroit, Michigan. Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Barbara lived a life defined by her quick wit and generous heart.

Barb had a special way of seeing people for who they were and making them feel welcomed. She made room in her heart for everyone she met, offering love, care, and food, to so many. She leaves a lasting impression on the people fortunate enough to know her.

Barbara was also well known for her baking and cooking. She expressed her love through the meals she prepared and the traditions she carried on. One of her most treasured traditions was the Russolillo family spaghetti and meatball recipe. Barb's love will continue to find its way to the family table through the recipes she passed down.

Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Winfield “Pete” and her parents Michael and Lillian. After Pete’s passing, she began a new chapter in her life by following her oldest son to Washington, D.C. and later moving to Michigan. Barb continued to build connections and shared her caring spirit with those around her.

Barbara was a firm believer in angels. Those who loved her can take comfort in knowing that she is at peace, reunited with Pete, dancing and surrounded by the angels she cherished.

Barbara is survived by her sons Peter (Donald) and Matthew (Staci); she was a dear sister to Michael (Polly) and Michelle; and she was a loving aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her three grand dogs were also a treasured part of the family she loved.

Though she will be deeply missed, Barbara's legacy will live on through her family, the traditions she passed down, the recipes that will continue to be shared, and the countless people who were lucky enough to know her.

May she spread her angel wings, reunite with her beloved Pete, and rest peacefully among the angels she loved so dearly.
