Barbara Ann Duffey, age 82, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, October 20th, 2020 at Meadow Grove Transitional Care in Grove City, Ohio. She was born Barbara Ann Focht on August 10, 1938 in Detroit, Michigan to parents Leo and Emma.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, Robert B. Duffey; an infant daughter, Laura L Duffey; parents, Leo and Emma (Loewe) Focht; 3 brothers, Leo Focht, Robert Focht, and Ernie Focht.
She is survived by a son, Robert Duffey, Paulding, Ohio; 4 daughters, Larisa (Juan) Maristany, Athens, Georgia; Shari (Gary) Gallant, Defiance, Ohio; Jeane (Bill) Shawver, Grove City, Ohio; Tena (Jeremy) Crist, Ft. Wayne, Indiana; a sister, Betty (Tom) Stephans, Indianapolis, Indiana; 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Barb graduated in 1956 from Antwerp High School, Antwerp, Ohio. She met her husband Robert B. Duffey on April 1, 1958. Their engagement soon followed on April 15th and their 53 year marriage began August 30th of that year. While she was primarily a home maker, raising 4 children, in 1979 became a Licensed Practical Nurse. A career very fitting for her compassionate nature.
Barb was very creative and used her talents to make beautiful things for those she loved. She found joy in music and singing, especially in her home church of Calvary Bible in Paulding, Ohio. Her faith in Jesus Christ was paramount in her life. She always enjoyed sharing God's word, whether that be across the kitchen table with friends, or teaching Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. Children were near and dear to Barb's heart. There was nothing that brought her more joy in her later years than her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was greatly loved and will deeply missed.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
