Barbara Fodey
August 12, 1929 — July 6, 2015
Barbara Anne Fodey, 85, of Columbus, went home to her Heavenly Father, after a blessed life on Monday, July 6, 2015.
She was born August 12, 1929 in Newark, daughter of the late Fred and Geneva Slack-Miller.
She attended Capital University and was a 1951 graduate of the Mt. Carmel School of Nursing and a devoted wife and mother.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Fodey.
She will be forever missed by her daughters Deborah Ann Fodey, Janet Audrey Orth and her son Joseph Frederick Fodey (Debra Kay). Barbara is also survived by her grandsons, Matthew Joseph Orth (Nathalie), John Franklin Pernell Jr., Scott Michael Pernell, Jeremiah Joseph Fodey; great grandchildren, Hayden Michael Pernell, Noah and Gaelle David, and Lilly Orth.
She will also be missed by many other family and friends including her special k-9 companion, Jacob.
Barbara's family would like to thank the health care professionals who made her as comfortable and peaceful as possible.
We will forever treasure the time by your bedside as you passed your faith and wisdom on to us.
You will be in our hearts and spirits forever.
Visitation will be Friday, July 10, 2015 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd Columbus, with the funeral service beginning at 7:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
