Barbara Joan Kidd, affectionately known as "Barbie," passed away on October 11, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on March 29, 1947, in Kermit, WV, she was a loving soul characterized by her soft-spoken demeanor and protective nature towards her family. Barbie was a woman filled with faith, who adored her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Barb was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, taking immense pride in her children, grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Her legacy is carried on by her surviving family members: daughter Renee Lynn (Matthew) Hawkins-Walton; son-in-law Randy Skipper; bonus daughter Lisa Davis; bonus son Brian (Margaret) Wolfe; sisters; Alta Abram, Debbie (Darrell) Smallridge, Connie Houck, grandsons Garth DeBell, Brian Wolfe II, Douglas (Vanessa) Cross, Jacob (Katie) Walton, and Dakota (Macey) Knispel; granddaughters Amanda (John) Baisden, Myra Wolfe, Laura Skaggs, and Ashlee (Richard) Davis; as well as numerous great-grandchildren, including Emmett, Johnny, Charlotte, Savannah, Calum, Harley, Avery, Roman, Deven Jr., Lukas, Jacobi, Lane, Clay, Miranda, and great-great-grandchildren Serenity, Maysonn, and Harmony.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Warner Kidd, her parents Burley Spaulding and Stella Pack, and daughter Terri Skipper. Barb also reunites with her late sisters Liz Walls, Faye Manning, Sharon Spaulding, Rhonda Smith, and Jodi Jordan, as well as her late brother, Thurman Spaulding, granddaughter Megan Wolfe, and great great-granddaughter, Reagan Moses. She was a true matriarch of her family and will be deeply missed.
Barb had a zest for life that was reflected in her many hobbies and interests. She cherished spending quality time with her family, enjoying moments spent gardening, picnicking, and engaging in her favorite games like Yahtzee and Rummy. Her love for dancing and trips to Nashville added an extra sparkle to her charming personality.
The family will hold visitation services on October 16, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and again on October 17, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in Grove City, OH. A funeral service will follow on the same day.
Barb's warm-heartedness and willingness to help others stood out among her traits, making her a beacon of love and strength for all who knew her. The memories of her kindness and vibrant spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of her family and friends.
