Barbara Lou Snyder

Barbara Lou Snyder passed away peacefully on the morning of May 12, 2025. Preceded in death by her husband, Edgar and her grandson, Samuel Snyder. She was born in Huntington, Indiana to her parents Albert and Luella Bell. They returned to her parents’ home in Leipsic, Ohio with her brother Jim when she was an infant. She attended Leipsic schools where she met her love, Edgar. They married in October, 1952 and had three children, Janet, Michael and Mark. She was a longtime member of St. Cecilia parish in Columbus, Ohio.

Barbara leaves behind her children Janet (Robert) Beck, Michael (Laura) Snyder and Mark (Carol) Snyder. She had nine grandchildren, Alexander (Julie) Snyder, Leah (Travis) Leitch, Thomas Snyder, Samuel Snyder, Hannah (Thomas) Beck-Kilps, Brandon (Elise) Beck, Max (Kirsten) Beck, Joshua (Polly) Snyder, Phoebe (Stephen) Snyder. She had nine great grandchildren who she loved dearly. She will also be sadly missed by her brother Jim (Sandra) Bell.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Cecilia parish on June 7, 2025 at 11:30 am. Private burial at St. Joseph’s cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Spinal Muscular Atrophy Clinic at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in memory of her great granddaughter, Ariya Leitch.
