Becky A. Cannaday, passed away peacefully at her residence on July 10, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on December 18, 1947, in Huntington, West Virginia, Becky’s life was rooted in steadfast faith, deep devotion to her loved ones, and a passion for reading and companionship that touched all who knew her.
Throughout her life, Becky’s warmth and kindness were evident to family and friends alike. She adored spending time with those she loved, cherishing every moment shared with her family and the many friends whose lives she brightened. A faithful member of Pleasant View Baptist Church in Grove City, Ohio, Becky found great joy in her church community, forming bonds that anchored her through her life.
Becky’s family was the center of her world. She is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, Billy Cannaday, her daughter, Lori (Duane) Peer, and her son, Randy (Marley) Smith. She is also fondly remembered by her stepchildren: Margaret (Herman) Applewhite, Tiffany (Jamie) Climer, and Robert Cannaday. Becky’s love extended unconditionally to all her family, blending her relationships with joy and caring. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Kim Smith, whose memory she treasured dearly.
Becky’s enthusiasm for literature made her an avid reader, always eager to share the books she loved or offer suggestions to others. She delighted in time spent with her dogs and had a special place in her heart for her girl Rainy, whose loyal companionship brought much happiness.
Becky will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, stepmother, and friend—her gentle presence and unwavering compassion were a comfort and an inspiration to all who knew her.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at a viewing to be held on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Pleasant View Baptist Church, 2525 Gantz Rd, Grove City, Ohio. A memorial service will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the same location, where those whose lives Becky touched can gather to honor her memory and celebrate the legacy of kindness, faith, and love she leaves behind.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Becky's memory to Mount Carmel Hospice (777 W State St, Columbus, OH 43222), whose staff the family extends a heartfelt thanks to for their compassionate care during their time of need.
