Benjamin A. Samples, 72, Westerville, OH passed away Monday, May 25, 2015. Ben was born in Charleston, WV on October 31, 1942, to Dock A. Samples and Maxine Dixie Sizemore and is preceded in death by his parents; son, D'Wayne Samples; 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Judith (Harbaugh) Samples; daughter, Wendy (Thomas) Byrd; sons, Daniel and David Samples; sister, Jerline Kauderer; brother, Leonard (Carol) Samples; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many friends.
He served in the US Army. Ben was an over-the-road truck driver for over 35 years and was a member of the "Million Mile Club" and Teamsters Local 413. During his career he drove for Smith Transfer, Consolidated Freightways and Yellow Freight.
Ben loved gardening, fishing and NASCAR.
Family and friends will gather on Thursday, May 28, 2015, 5-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, OH with the Funeral Service Friday, May 29, 2015, 10:00 AM.
