Bernice E. Brown, 83, Columbus, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. Bernice was born in Dayton, OH on June 30, 1930 to the late Clarence and Esther (Engle) Hare and is also preceded in death by her husband, Donald Stevens.
Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Charles R. Brown; daughters, Sharon (Mike) O'Leary, Stephanie (Sean) Ryan; sons, David (Lisa Barrows) Smith, Donald (Pamela) Smith, Scott (Linda) Stevens, Ron (Dana) Brown; sister, Nadine (Pastor John) Gantt; 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many friends.
Bernice was an office manager for Dolbey and Company, seamstress for Busch's Bridal, and most recently a volunteer at Riverside Methodist Hospital. But, her most satisfying role was being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Family and friends will gather on Tuesday, December 17, 2013, 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM at Northwest United Methodist Church, 5200 Riverside Drive, Columbus, OH 43220 with the Funeral to follow at 11:30 AM. Interment will follow at Northlawn Memory Gardens, Westerville, OH 43082.
