Bertha Lee Johnson

Bertha was born August 28, 1934 in Thomaston, Georgia to the late Shedwrich Risper Sr. and Katie Jones Risper.

Bertha married John Johnson Sr. and had nine children. She accepted Christ later in life but knew since she was young that she wanted heaven to be her home. Bertha was a member of Emmanuel Tabernacle Baptist Church Apostolic Faith where she served on the Usher Board before becoming a minister. She was ordained an Elder on January 31, 1998.

God called her home to rest on May 18, 2016 surrounded by her children at home.

Bertha was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Bobby C. (Evelyn) Risper, Curtis (Anna Mae) Risper, R.D. (Lillie) Risper, and sisters, Irene (T.W.) Risper Hobbs, LV Risper, Carrie (Eddie) Risper Durham, Josephine (Tim) Risper Cherry and sister-in-law Mary Kate Brown Risper.

She leaves to cherish her memory: John Johnson Sr., daughters: Linda Johnson, Brenda Johnson Clerk, Betty Johnson, Stacy Johnson, Yvonne Johnson and sons John (Julie) Johnson Jr., Victor (Jackie) Johnson, Rocky Johnson, and Rickey Johnson, ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Sisters: Ola Mae Risper Daniels, Annie Sue (Archie) Risper Townsend, Lula (Edward) Risper Williams and Gennie Gaston and brother Shedwrich Risper Jr. as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
