Betty Jo Vasos

Betty Jo Vasos, 81, received her angel wings Friday, March 11, 2016 peacefully at home with her family. She was preceded in death by parents, John and Josephine Meadows; siblings, Daryl, Paul, and Carla.

Betty is survived by her husband of 60 years, George; daughters, Evelyn (Shelia), Cathy, and Andrea (Scott); grandson, Josh; sister-in-law, Lynn and her family; nephew, John Baxter; and niece, Priscilla Ralph and her family.

Betty loved being a wife, mother, and a grandmother. Her family was her everything. There was only one Betty. She was an extrovert that left an impression with everyone she ever met. Betty was diagnosed in 1999 with breast cancer and fought a courageous battle for 18 years. She had a close relationship with Doctors Chidiac, Hackett, and Beatty over the years. The family would like to thank their medical team as well. In addition, they would like to thank a very special person named Brenda, who through Betty's illness, came in as a caregiver, and developed a special bond with Betty and ended up as a very close family friend. Betty's wish was to come home at the end of her journey to be with her family. The amazing hospice team provided comfort to Betty and so much support to the family.

Visitation Monday, March 14, 2016 from 6pm until the time of Funeral Service at 7:30pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Private burial will take place at Dover Burial Park, Dover, Oh.
