Betty Kelly
March 18, 1925 — August 28, 2014
Betty I. Kelly, 89, passed away August 28, 2014. She was preceded in death by parents, Ben and Ella Wells; husband of 50 years, Charles Kelly; twin sister, Mary Eloise Johnson; and brothers, Fred and Ben Manuel Wells.
Betty is survived by daughters, Margaret (James) West and Ruth (John) Barnes; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Benjamin and Abigail West, and Charlie, Todd and Joe Barnes; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Graduated from Newark HS in 1943 then served in the US Army. After that she worked for the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad where she retired after 38 years of service. Instrumental in the establishment of the Women in Military Service for America Memorial in Washington, D.C. and active member in the WAC.
Private family services will be held.
