Betty Lee Burke

Betty L. Burke, age 86, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on February 25, 2026. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland on May 6, 1939 to the late Francis H. and Iantha (Close) Benton. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, Richard "Dick" Burke, mother, father, sister Mary (Benton) and brother in-law Dale Singhass. She is survived by her children Vickie Anderson of Columbus and Rick (Julie) Burke of Delaware, OH.

Known as Grandma, she is also survived by her loving grandchildren Ashlee (Cody) Weber, Courtney (Brendan) Ward, Rachel (Derek) Seppeler, and Lauren (Cole) Gibson. Great grandchildren Caroline and Benton Ward, Libby Gibson, Lillian and Henry Seppeler.

Betty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved her family and friends fiercely and will be greatly missed by those who loved her.

She was a longtime School Secretary in the English Dept at Westland High School. Betty and Dick enjoyed many years wintering in Fort Myers Beach, watching Jeopardy, building homecoming floats with the Westland High School Class of 1982, taking out the pontoon on Lake Choctaw, watching Rick play basketball and baseball, doing craft shows together, and just sitting together in their recliners enjoying every minute together.

Memorial service will be held at 4 PM on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at Columbia Heights United Methodist Church, 775 Galloway Road, Galloway, Ohio 43119. Visitation will begin at 2 PM, prior to the service.
