Betty Lou (Davis) McCloud, 88, was born in Lafayette, IN on November 15, 1937, and passed away June 6, 2026 at her home. She graduated from WEA High School. Betty married and had four children before divorcing and moving to Grove City, OH. There she would meet Ed McCloud and the two would marry in 1975, living out 51 years of marriage together.
Betty worked at Buckeye Boy's Ranch in Grove City early in its inception with great friend Les Bostic. Betty worked several government jobs and retired from the U.S. Postal Service. Betty had a love for gardening which led to many years of selling her home grown vegetables in their front yard. She loved snowmobiling, baking, and traveling - which included her favorite trips to Tennessee. Betty also loved a trip now and then to the casino. Anyone who knew Betty knows what a wonderful, loving, caring, and selfless person she was.
Betty is survived by her loving husband, Lawrence McCloud; children, Greg (Kim) Lanam of Crawfordsville, IN, Dawn (Ken) Lanam Ford of Lyles, TN, Jeff Lanam of Lafayette, IN, and Kert (Linda) Lanam of Orient, OH; step-son, Brad (Stephanie) McCloud of Reynoldsburg; step-daughter, Amee McCloud Holland of Grandview; brother, Clearance "Tiny" Huggler of Apple Valley, CA; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by father, Lawrence Davis; mother, Hazel Huggler; step-father, Shorty Huggler; sisters, Edna Burns and Rose Anthrop; brother, Jerry Huggler; and niece, Carrie Huggler
Visitation Monday, June 15, 2026 from 5-7pm at Newcomer, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH.
In lieu of flowers, Betty asked that donations be made to either the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Heartland Hospice.
