Mrs. Betty Garrett went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus on December 30, 2015, peacefully at home in Columbus, Ohio at the age of 80. Betty is survived by her son John E. Garrett Jr. and daughter's Suanne (Sue), Caralee England, Theresa (Teri) Thomas of Columbus, OH, 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, brothers Thomas Heading of Biloxi, MS, Gerald (Bud) Heading of Sunbury, OH, sister Pamela (Pam) Naquin of New Orleans, LA. She is preceded in death by parents Gerald and Edith Heading of Wellston, OH, husband of 38 years John E. Garrett, Sr of Marysville, OH, and Duke F. England, husband of Caralee. Betty loved her children and grandchildren and her dogs. She always loved serving and putting them first before herself. She is now in heaven caring and serving again for her husband John E Garrett, Sr, and our Lord and Savior Jesus celebrating a new life together with Him. Mom you will be missed here on earth by all of us you touched. Our sorrow is for a moment, but Joy comes in the morning we can take comfort knowing you are in no more pain. We will see you again in Heaven where we will look forward to seeing you and your smiling face. Betty was born on May 17, 1935 in Wellston, OH to Gerald and Edith Heading. She married John Garrett on July 20, 1951. After moving to Columbus, Betty worked in the Hotel Banquet Industry all her life, retiring from Ramada Plaza Hotel after 16 years. Received Plaque from Ramada Plaza for her 16 years of service.
Gathering will take place at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin Granville Rd, Columbus on January 4, 2016 from 5pm to 8pm.
Funeral service on Tuesday at the funeral home at 11am.
Burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Columbus, OH.
