Betty Sharp, 80, of Columbus, passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
She was born March 31, 1934 in Lafollette, TN, daughter of the late William and Grace Chadwick Heatherly.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her companion, Wayne Schade and son, Rick Schade.
She retired from D.L. Auld Company and then worked part time in the Mother House at the Dominican Sisters of Peace which she thoroughly enjoyed.
Betty loved her dog Bella and collecting giraffe's.
She loved getting together with all of her grandchildren for parties and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to have met her.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Debra (Frank) Cowgill, Cathy Stevens and Nancy Terry; son, Steven Sharp; sister, June Walker; grandchildren, Ed Luke, Aaron Cowgill, Chad and Cyle Stevens, Jennifer Starkey, Courtnie Jones, Carla Bush, Rick Terry, Terri Ann Sharp, Casey and Brianne Schade, Joseph Hinkle Jr. and Andrea Planck; great grandchildren, Jeremy, Aiden, Clark, Ryan, Madison, Lylian, Izabella, Emma, Ella, Bella, Tyler, Anthony, Benjamin, Allen, Ricky, Joseph David Hinkle, Justin and Abbie Planck.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 6, 2014 from 9:00-10:00 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus, with the funeral service beginning at 10:00 AM.
Interment will be in Northlawn Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Dominican Sisters of Peace Mohun Hall Attn: Sister Sheila McIntyre, 2320 Airport Dr. Columbus, OH 43219.
