Betty J. Willie, 88, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2014.
Born to the late Henry and Mae Jones on September 26, 1925.
Betty Jones grew up in Columbus, graduated from Mifflin High School, and married Bob Willie in 1944. Through their 63 years of marriage, they enjoyed dancing at Milano's on Saturday nights, golfing, and were members of Alpha Club, Moose, Eagles and Amvets. Betty was a lifelong, active member of Christ Presbyterian Church (formerly Kohr Memorial).
Preceded in death by husband Robert L. Willie, sisters Martha, Lola and Faye, brothers Charles, Henry, Herb, Ralph and Steve, sisters-in-law Mary Ellen (Shorty) Rayman and Lillian (Tom) Davis.
Betty is survived by sons, Robert (Lorie) Willie, Jr. and Andrew (Kelli) Willie; sister, Ruth Ann Thompson; brother, Terry (Carol) Jones; grandchildren, Robert Willie III, Michael Willie, David Tuttle and their mother Darla Fauver, Cameron Wright, Candice (Dale) White, Sarah Willie and Alex Willie; great-grandchildren, Robert Willie IV, Aason White, and Bailey White; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close friends.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2014 at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME NE CHAPEL, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd., where the funeral service will be held Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 10 a.m. Pastor Pamela Patterson officiating with visitation one hour prior to services.
Interment will be in Blendon Central Cemetery.
