Listen to Obituary

Beverly Jean Leonard, 93, of Dublin, Ohio, formerly of Orange, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025.

Beverly was born on April 28, 1932, in Orleans, Vermont, to Shirl and Ruth (Williams) Hutchins. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, Raymond Leonard, and her cherished granddaughter, Victoria-Raye Wisniewski.

Beverly lived a life defined by love, faith, and service to others. She devoted herself to caring for her family, church, and community. Her professional career included work at Butterfield School, the Athol Daily News, Athol Memorial Hospital Social Services and the Social Services Department at Quabbin Valley Healthcare.

A dedicated volunteer, Beverly served for seven years as an in-home hospice caregiver and was actively involved with Meals on Wheels and Lifepath, Inc., where she also served as chairperson. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the United Methodist Church, participating on numerous committees. In recognition of her commitment to her community, she was honored as Citizen of the Month in Orange and served as a checker for local and national elections.

Beverly found joy in playing card games with her grandchildren, caring for stray cats, drinking tea and listening to classical piano music. Her kindness and generosity touched all who knew her.

She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Rae (Jim) Drummond and Deborah (Paul) Wisniewski; her brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Denise Hutchins; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Beverly’s life is being planned for the summer of 2026 in her hometown of Orange, Massachusetts. A private burial service will be held at Westlook Cemetery in Glover, Vermont, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Orange United Methodist Church in Orange, Massachusetts, or to a hospice organization of one’s choice.
