Obituary

Beverly Dawn Roederer (Moreland), 61, of Westerville, OH , passed away unexpectedly of cardiovascular disease at her home on August 10, 2020.

Beverly was born February 11, 1959 in Toledo, OH to Allen and Jeanette (McCreery) Belknap. After the passing of her Father Allen in 1960, she was adopted by Donald E. Moreland in 1964.

Beverly graduated from Big Walnut High School in Galena, OH in 1977 before marrying and moving to The Plains, OH. She and her husband Jamie raised their children in Athens County where Beverly worked at McBee Systems for over 23 years. She was a devoted Mother and active in her children's lives assuming such roles as Girl Scout Troop leader, member of the Plains Elementary PTA, Field Trip Chaperone, Bleacher Cheerleader, Fund Raiser and Bake Sale Super Star, President of the Athens Swim Club and Ohio Swimming Association Swim Meet Official. Beverly moved back to Galena in 2004 to act as full-time caregiver to her Grandmother, Irene. She discovered she had a true talent and calling for helping and caring for seniors. She began working at Feridean Commons of Westerville, OH in 2006 and passionately continued that work until her passing. She also provided in home care to her own parents when they began to need assistance starting in 2016.

Beginning at a young age, Bev possessed a fascination and affection for animals (especially big cats) and enjoyed visiting zoos all over the country. She loved driving, road trips, seeing gorgeous landscapes and oceans all while making friends with just about everyone she met along the way. She was a talented cross stitcher, an avid reader, Lunch Bunch Chauffeur and a lover of music. She had an enormous heart - a steadfast devotion to her family and genuine affection for people, dogs, and cats.

Bev is adored, celebrated and remembered by her children Dawna Roederer (Lou Poster) and Brent Roederer (Marcela Rodriguez), Granddaughters Emma and Kaidance and Grandson Daniel, beloved Sister Barb Murphy (Don Dougall), Brother Don Moreland (Cari), 12 nieces, 7 nephews, many Brothers- and Sisters-in-law, coworkers and dear friends.

Beverly was preceded in death by her biological Father, Allen Belknap, her older Brother, Barton, her Mother-in-law Patricia Roederer, her Brother-in-law John Murphy, her Mother Jeanette Moreland, and her Father Donald Moreland.

A memorial will be held on August 7, 2021, beginning around 3:30 - 4 p.m. at the Hoover Reservoir Park shelter house beside the Red Bank Marina located at 7001 Sunbury Rd, Westerville, OH 43082. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic we could not safely gather in 2020 after Beverly passed. We ask that all those in attendance please follow CDC COVID-19 guidelines when attending to protect our family and friends.
