Bonnie Jean Rivers, 70, went to be with her heavenly father on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 in Columbus, OH surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 3, 1943 in Melvin, AL to William and Mable (Bonner) Commedo Sr.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents; her husband John Rivers; and sister Carolyn Russell.
She is survived by her children, Kerry Rivers, Regina (Eric) Wiggins, Marvin (Tricia) Rivers Sr., and Marland (Tyree) Rivers Sr.; siblings, Marva Martin, Marie Commedo, William (Ann) Commedo Jr., George Commedo, Shirley Commedo, Deborah (Tony) Clark, and Roger Commedo; 11 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Bonnie will be on Monday, January 13, 2014 from 10-11am at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus, OH 43231 followed by funeral services at 11:00am. She will be laid to rest at Union Cemetery, 3349 Olentangy River Rd. Columbus, OH 43202. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Zangmeister Center, www.hohcf.org.
