Listen to Obituary

Bradley D. Warnick, 73, of Powell, Ohio, passed away on June 20, 2026, surrounded by family. An adventurer at heart and lifelong lover of the outdoors, Brad lived a life defined by curiosity, energy, and deep connection to the people and places around him.

Born in Great Falls, Montana, Brad graduated from Simms High School and went on to earn a master’s degree from Utah State University. While he spent his professional career in the technology industry, it was clear to anyone who knew him that his passions lived well beyond the workplace.

An avid outdoorsman, Brad once served on the national fire service crew in Idaho and the ski patrol in Utah. After moving to Ohio in 1986, he never lost that spirit. Whether he was camping in Alaska, rafting down the Colorado River, kayaking in Prince William Sound, running marathons, or biking mile after mile, Brad found joy in experiencing the world firsthand and bringing his family along for the journey.

Brad is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Kathy) Warnick, and his children: Erin Warnick MacFarlane (Dan), Amy Warnick Gawne (Scott), Dana Christine Llewellyn (Chris), Brian Christopher Stropki (Jenn), and Christopher Matthew Stropki (Alanna). He was a proud grandfather to Brendan, Addelyn, Brynn, Cayden, and CT. He is also survived by his siblings Charles Warnick (Jan), Russell Warnick, Ron Warnick (Barb), Kerwin Warnick, Wendy Warnick (Andy Reynolds), and Lorin Warnick (Jill), as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Webb Warnick; his mother, Donna Blackburn Warnick; and his first wife, Christine Mary (Kohl) Warnick.

Family was at the center of Brad’s life. From growing up with six siblings to building a blended family with Kathy when they married 30 years ago, he found his greatest joy in time spent together. Whether skiing in the backcountry with family, proudly stepping into his role as “papa,” or loading everyone into an RV and driving across the country for the memorable “Great Tuna Boat Adventure,” Brad created moments that his family will carry with them forever.

He especially loved his home, surrounded by six wooded acres tucked away where he could be outside doing just about anything, including enjoying Zen moments of endless mowing.

Brad will be deeply missed, but his adventurous spirit lives on in the people who loved him. Each hike taken, river rafted, or quiet moment in nature is a reminder of the joy he found in the world and the legacy he leaves behind.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 10051 Brewster Lane in Powell, followed by a service and reception.
