In Loving Memory of Brenda It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Brenda, who left this world on May 5, 2026, after a courageous battle with dementia. Born on December 25, 1938, in Washington Courthouse, Ohio, she was a cherished daughter, wife, mother, and friend. Her life was a testament to love, strength, and resilience, and her departure leaves a void that will be felt by many. Brenda was the devoted daughter of Dorthy and Walter Blackburn, who preceded her in death, along with her beloved son Scott Baars her brother Steve Blackburn and her dear husband, the love of her life, Dick Baars. She now joins them, along with other cherished family members including Derick Baars, in the embrace of eternal peace. A proud graduate of South High School in Columbus, Ohio, Brenda was known for her strong work ethic and leadership abilities. She was a retail manager, a boss in every sense, who dedicated her career to several retail department stores, leaving a lasting impact on colleagues and customers alike. Her professional legacy is one of dedication and excellence. Beyond her career, Brenda was a woman of varied interests and passions. She had an abiding love for Ireland and found joy and comfort in the company of her cats. These passions, along with her warm and generous spirit, endeared her to everyone who knew her. Brenda is survived by a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: Doug Baars, Marie Baars, Bill Blackburn and family, stepdaughters Tawnia Amleh and family, Michaela Koenig and family, Balinda Bowden and family, Debbie Wiedwald and family, and numerous adored nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her family was her pride and joy, and her love for them knew no bounds. The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to Tracy Masters for her unwavering love and care during Mom's final years. A special thank you is also extended to the staff at Monetary Nursing Home, whose compassion and dedication provided comfort beyond measure. A celebration of Brenda's life will be held on May 13, 2026, at 6:00 PM to 8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio, 43123. We invite all who knew and loved her to join us in honoring her remarkable life and the love she shared with all. As we say goodbye, we take solace in knowing that Mom is now in the arms of God, reunited with those she loved dearly. Her legacy of love, strength, and kindness will forever remain in our hearts.
