Brenda S. Tackett, 71, passed away on October 26, 2026, at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio.

Born on August 18, 1955, in Ashland, Kentucky, Brenda was the daughter of John Spaulding and Frances Mae (Stephens) Spaulding. She will be remembered as someone who found joy in life’s everyday moments and who treasured the people she loved most. She enjoyed watching “Gunsmoke,” and she loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandbabies. Some of the moments she cherished most were the simple ones shared with those closest to her, whether it was coffee in the morning, a good television show or movie, or sharing a cigarette in good company.

Brenda’s life was rooted in the warmth of family, friendship, and togetherness. She leaves behind many who will miss her deeply and remember her with love. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Stanley Tackett; her daughter, Christina (Charles "Frankie" Jr.) Erickson; her son, Stanley (Tonya Brickles) Tackett Jr.; her brother, John “Charlie” (Martha) Spaulding Jr.; and her sisters, Barbara “Faye” Stepp and Imogene “Jean” Smith. She also leaves behind the family and friends whose time with her brought her so much happiness, especially the 5 grandbabies she adored.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Spaulding; her mother, Frances Mae Spaulding; her sisters, Martha Sheppard and Virginia “Ginny” DeWitt; and her brother, James Spaulding.

Brenda will be remembered for the comfort of her presence, her enjoyment of the simple things, and the love she shared so freely with those around her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends who were blessed to know her.
