Brian Barrett

Brian Patrick Barrett, Age 66 , of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on June 4, 2026. Brian was born on January 16, 1960 in Cleveland, Ohio. He worked in construction and spent many years in Helenwood, Tennessee near his sister, her husband and his nieces. He enjoyed listening to Frank Zappa, and fishing in his free time. He had a deep love of birds and a good party. He took great joy in caring for his grandson, Malachite.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Barrett & Patricia Whipkey; stepmother Helen Barrett; Sister Gail Phillips (Barrett) and brother-in-law Kenneth “Kenny” Phillips; and nephew Sean Barrett. 

He is survived by his children Shane Barrett of Columbus, Ohio; Nolan Barrett of Columbus, Ohio; and Kristin Yarsa (Barrett) and husband Philip of Cleveland, Ohio; his siblings Barb Ryan (Barrett) and husband Mike of Brunswick, Ohio; and Kevin Barrett and wife Alice of Cleveland, Ohio; and grandson Malachite Barrett of Logan, Ohio; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Brian’s wishes were cremation. There will be a private memorial with family at a later time.
