Carl Ray Pack

Carl “Ray” Pack, 71, of Washington Courthouse, passed away on August 6, 2025. He was born in Columbus on October 1, 1953 to the late George Jefferson and Georgia Mae (Griffith) Pack. He married Cathy Lynn Cartwright on 05/08/1972, and she survives.

Along with his loving wife of 53 years, Ray is survived by daughters, Amanda Kay Pack, Candie Rae Pack (Shawn Hunter), and Brandie Lynn Pack; grandchildren, Branden Ryan McCain, Brenna Lynn McCain (Lukas Gilliam), Madalynn Ryann McCain, Myla Kay Westlake, Makayla Sky Pack, Dylan Donovan Pack, Hannah Rae Pack, Hayden Lee Pack, and Halona Elizabeth Pack-Jones; great-grandchildren, Emarie, Bella, Luka, Ophelia, and Aleyana; and siblings, Suzannah (Susan) Demint and Carol (Lou) Ann Pack;

Along with his parents, Ray is preceded in death by his son, David Lee Pack; brothers, Larry Pack and David Lee Pack; and sisters, Sherry (sis) Garlinger and Sandra Jean Pack.

Ray worked as an Over the Road Semi Driver for over 25 years, taking the chance to see the country in his travels. After retiring from driving, Ray worked in the Service Department for the City of Grove City for over 17 years; as well as a Custodian for South-Western City Schools for over 10 years.

When he wasn’t working, Ray loved to hunt deer, to garden, to make people laugh, to love on his wife, daughters and grandchildren but he especially loved spending time cooking on the grill with his family and extended family. Ray and Cathy always had an open door and accepted anyone into their family.

Immediate family will greet friends and family from 4pm to 6pm, Thursday, August 14, 2025 at Newcomer Funerals, Cremations, and Receptions – Southwest; 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123. A service to honor Ray’s life will be held at 6pm, Thursday, August 14, 2025; at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers please consider leaving cash donations to help Cathy with finances as this was very unexpected for her and the family. There will be a donation box located at the service. The Pack family would like to thank everyone who has helped them through this sad time.
