Carla Monteverde
January 12, 1951 — April 9, 2015
Carla passed away at home from pancreatic cancer on April 9, 2015 in Slatington, Pennsylvania.
She was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio.
Carla attended schools in Worthington and Powell, Ohio.
She also worked for Kalahari resorts in Sandusky, Ohio.
After marriage, Carla moved to Bethlehem, PA where she raised her five children.
Retiring to Slatington, Carla became a member of the American Legion Auxillary-Allen O Delke- Post 16 Slatington, Pennsylvania.
She was predeceased by her brother, Tryko Alexander and parents, Helen Long and Carl Alexander.
Carla leaves behind her children, Carlita (Stephen) Herstitch and Laura (Neil) DeWalt of Pennsylvania, Nadine, Christina and Kevin Monteverde of Delaware; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Donna Thomas of New Jersey, Lubinka Richesson and Denise Alexander, both of Ohio.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 30, 2016 from 2:00-4:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus, with a Celebration of Life beginning at 4:00 PM.
In her memory, donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the James Center for Pancreatic Cancer- The Ohio State University Comprehensive Center or A.S.P.C.A.
