Carol Ann Wenstadt, age 78, of Lewis Center, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, on August 12, 1947, Carol grew up as a proud Army brat. Her father’s military service took the family to many different places during her childhood, a chapter of her life she looked back on fondly. She loved to share stories about her family's travels, most notably the cherished time she spent living in El Paso, Texas, and her time in Honolulu, Hawaii, where she graduated from Maryknoll High School in 1964.
Carol was known for her incredibly sharp wit and a sarcastic sense of humor that kept everyone on their toes. She was a woman who knew exactly who she was and, as those who loved her would say, she was always very "particular" about what she wanted.
Above all, Carol’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was an exceptionally proud mother and grandmother who lived for her children and grandchildren. Whether she was sharing countless photos online or sitting in the audience, she made sure to attend every single milestone and event that her health would allow. Her fierce love, support, and presence will be deeply missed.
In her later years, Carol found immense happiness in rescuing and caring for dogs. She provided a loving home to many fortunate pups over the years and leaves behind a legacy of compassion for animals. A joyful reunion surely took place at the Rainbow Bridge, where she was greeted by her beloved dogs who went before her: Alex, Pebbles, Champ, KT, Hank, and Max.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Thomas and Eileen (Grimes) Wein; her beloved son, Charles Thomas (Tommy) Brewer; and her sister, Denise (Wein) Litle.
Her memory will be kept alive by her family: her daughter, Bethany Bloom and her husband Jerrad; her daughter, Jeri Ann Treganowen and her husband Torey; her cherished grandchildren, Evie, Libby, and Judson; and her sisters, Grace Wein and Maureen (Wein) Keebaugh. She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends.
