Carole Virginia Collins

Carole V. (Pile) Collins died on April 21, 2025, in Powell, Ohio at the age of 90. She had lived in central Ohio since 1975. A native of Sedalia, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Terry and Margaret Pile. She was preceded in death by her half-brother Bernard Pile.

Carole graduated from Smith-Cotton High School in Sedalia in 1952 and from Central Missouri State College in 1956. She first worked as an administrative secretary at Central Missouri State and then in a similar position for a non-profit corporation at three different locations until the birth of her children. While her children were young, she was an active volunteer and had various part-time jobs. Her last full-time position was as an assistant production editor for a textbook publisher. 

Carole is lovingly survived by her two children Dr. Diana (Greg) Taylor and Brian (Jo) Lee and three grandchildren, Garrett Taylor, Blaine Lee and Alayna Lee. 

Carole always loved her hometown of Sedalia, ragtime music, and Missouri. In her later years her passion was reading, especially biographies, and she read multiple books per week. 

Carole requested there be no memorial service.
