Carole A. Copley, born on October 25, 1937, in Brookville, Indiana, and having peacefully passed away on April 26, 2026, leaves behind a legacy woven with kindness, wit, and an unwavering devotion to those she loved. Her life's journey was marked by a remarkable dedication to public service—beginning with her years in the civil service and culminating as a background investigator for American Airlines, where her sharp eye and gentle heart ensured safety with grace.

Carole was much more than her career; she was a vibrant soul with a gift for bringing laughter into any room. Known for her quick wit and hilarious nature, Carole had a unique way of lifting spirits, always ready to brighten a day or share a smile. Her affectionate habit of calling anyone who said something funny or delightfully unconventional “a corker” became a cherished hallmark among family and friends. She carried a profound compassion, often reaching out her hand to those less fortunate, embodying a spirit of generosity that was as natural to her as breathing.

As an artist, Carole expressed her inner world through pencil drawing and creativity, an extension of her passionate appreciation for beauty. Her love of reading and music enriched her life with endless stories and melodies, while her heart was deeply intertwined with animals. Throughout the years, she shared her home and soul with family, friends, and many beloved pets, each holding a special place in her heart and memories.

Carole’s family was the center of her universe, and she was a dedicated aunt and steadfast friend. She is lovingly remembered by her best friend and ‘sister’, Mary Claypool; her nieces, Beth Olson, Barb and Heather Claypool, Linda Del Castilo; nephew Isaac Claypool; step-nephew Reid Weaver; and many cherished great nephews and nieces: Nick, Will, and Sam Olson; Eddie and Emma Claypool; Charlie and Sophia Varchetto. Her circle of close friends, who were like family, will continue to feel the warmth of her spirit every day.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles ‘Chuck’ G. Copley, her beloved mother, Cora, and father, Richard Senour; her brother, Rich; her sister, Alice; and, poignantly, many of her cherished pets who shared her journey.

A gathering and celebration of life will be held on May 8, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest, located at 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio.

In remembering Carole A. Copley, we honor a life filled with love, laughter, and an indelible generosity of spirit—a life that touched so many and will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her legacy is a beautiful mosaic of joy, art, and kindness, forever etched in the hearts of her family and friends. She was truly one of life’s brightest “corkers.”
