Carolyn Ilene Dunn
Carolyn Ilene (Rumsey) Dunn, 89 of Columbus, Ohio departed this life on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at Ohio Health Hospice House. She was born December 30, 1936 in Whitley County, Indiana to the late Sidney and Laurena (Parker) Rumsey.
Carolyn worked as a Secretary for Consolo Builders in Twinsburg, Ohio for a number of years. She later retired to the Sebring, Florida area with her husband Max Dunn. There she made many friends and volunteered to cook for special events at the campground where they resided for several years.Carolyn’s interests included cooking, gardening, sewing, knitting, and her dog, Anna.
Carolyn is now reunited with her loving husband of 61 years, Max Wilson Dunn who passed away in 2017.
Those left to cherish her memory include her brother Theron (Sandy) Rumsey of Candler, NC, her son, Mark Dunn (Pamela) of Twinsburg, Ohio, and her daughter, Denise (Criss) Mattingly of Grove City, Ohio. The grandchildren; Renee Dunn (Matthew Harrison), Matthew (Kathryn) Dunn, Megan (Sisqo) Keo, and Matthew (Lynn) Mattingly.The Great Grandchildren; Alex, Luke, Ellie, Violet, Oliver, Xavier, and Siena.
A public Memorial Service will be held for both Carolyn and Max Dunn Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 2 p.m. Services will take place at Newcomer Cremations, Funeral and Receptions at the Southwest Chapel with Rev. Cindy Rumsey officiating. Both Carolyn and Max will be cremated and inturned together in their Dunn Family burial plot in Columbia City, Indiana at a later time.
