Carolyn J. Cummings

Carolyn Jean Cummings, age 73, was born October 29, 1941 in Parkersburg, West Virginia to the union of Earl and Lena Fitzgerald. She graduated from Parkersburg High School and moved to Columbus, Ohio, where she met and married. To this union were born four children, Cheryl, Ginger, Bryan and Craig.

Carolyn was a member of Galilee Baptist Church for over thirty years, under the pastorate of Reverend William Stevenson and Reverend Henry J. Scott. She was a faithful and dedicated member. She saw that her children were active members as well, bringing them to Sunday School every week.

She worked as a Pharmacy Technician at OSU and Kroger. She became employed with Leibert Corporation as the Lead Supervisor in the Electrical Engineering Department where she was employed for over thirty years. Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and loyal friend. She enjoyed the Family Reunions, sewing, planting flowers and watching her favorite stories.

She passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus at home surrounded by her loved ones on May 17, 2015. Carolyn was preceded in death by her brother, Earl E. Fitzgerald Jr; father, Earl E. Fitzgerald Sr; mother, Lena Juditha; sisters, Mary Louise Williams, Charlotte Ann Brydie, Lena Juditha Carter and Earlene L. Donaway-Wiley.

Continuing to celebrate her life, cherish her memories, preserve and pass on her legacy are her children; Cheryl Elaine Cummings-Scott, Ginger Michelle Cummings, Bryan William Cummings and Craig Leon Cummings; brothers, Larry (Patricia) Fitzgerald, Robert (Rose) Fitzgerald, Ricky Fitzgerald, Timothy Fitzgerald and William Fitzgerald; sisters, Geraldine Cannon, Pamela S. Bolte, Leona J. Scott, Roseann M. (Pastor Herman H.) Noble, Charlene Fitzgerald and Marlene Witson; grandchildren, Angelo Scott Jr., Lauren Scott, Terrance Cummings, Leon Cummings, Sundrea Franklin, Tierra Ford, Marshaun Watters and Cajaun Malique Cummings; her favorite aunt, Mildred Glover; her favorite uncle, Floyd Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
