Carolyn H. Shirley, 72, passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 in Westerville, OH. Carolyn was born on February 16, 1946 in Washington, DC to the late Stedman and Katharine Hitchcock.
Carolyn, aka "GG", is preceded in death by her husband, James "Jimbo" W. Shirley, Sr.
She is survived by her son, James W. (Christine) Shirley, Jr.; daughter, Michelle Shirley; grandchildren, Danielle Weaver and Brittany Weaver-Ulrich; great-grandchildren, Aden Sandmann and Ryder Ulrich; brother, John S. Hitchcock; many honorary children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Carolyn was an avid cross-stitcher, reader and Cubs fan. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her great-grandchildren. Carolyn was well loved by everyone for her caring heart including Barron "Bear" and Dre her beloved dogs.
Family will receive friends on Friday, June 8, 2018 from 12 to 2pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Columbus NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd., Columbus, OH 43231. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 2pm with a visitation one hour prior also at Newcomer NE Chapel.
