Catherine Suzanne Hickey (born June 18, 1958) died February 25, 2021 at The James Cancer Hospital in Columbus Ohio at the age of 62, from complications due to cancer.
Cathy was born in Columbus and graduated from Whitehall Yearling High School in 1976. Shortly after, she moved to Texas, and later Illinois, where she spent over 30 years. She returned to Columbus and spent her remaining years surrounded by family and friends.
Cathy enjoyed light-hearted sitcoms, taking long walks, but above all, helping others. She routinely took in those in need for months and years at a time. In her home, you would often find someone confiding in her while eating some of whatever was most recently in the crockpot.
Cathy wanted nothing more than to live to see her son get married. And despite being on total life support nearly one year ago, did attended her son's wedding to Erin Lipin in Hermann, MO on November 21, 2021.
Cathy was preceded in death by her Father, Daniel Hickey, and brother, Richard Hickey. She is survived by her Mother, Helen Hickey, Sisters; Deborah Greene, Ruth Hickey and "Little" Kathy Hickey, Brothers; Daniel Hickey and Joseph Hickey, and Son, Vijay Bangalore.
