Catherine R. Kreachbaum

Kreachbaum (Fortmann), Catherine R., age 68, passed away peacefully at home on May 28th, 2021 in Columbus, Ohio. She was born on August 13th 1952 to Gordon and Betty Fortmann in Oconomowoc, WI. With her family, she moved to various states as a child and graduated from Worthington High School class of 1971. Catherine married in 1973 and raised 3 daughters in Columbus, Ohio. She was a long time member of Linden Lutheran Church where she also taught bible school. Catherine worked for the Columbus Public School system and then eventually ended up working for Ohio Health for the last 25 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Michael Kreachbaum, her father Gordon Fortmann and her father-in-law Charles Kreachbaum. Surviving family includes her mother Betty Lou Fortmann (Helgerson) and mother-in- law Naomi Kreachbaum; three sisters, Carlene Brock, Christine Pingault and Charlotte Fortmann; sister-in-law Joelyn (John) Lanning; three daughters, Dana (Christopher) Kucharski, Loni (William) Marcum, Lori (Thomas) Swartz; her beloved grandchildren Michael Combs, Dawn Combs, Dylan Kucharski, Katie Kucharski, Lillian Swartz and Sophia Swartz; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Sunday June 6, 2021 from 1pm until the time of memorial service at 2pm at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel 3047 East Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus, Ohio 43231.
