Charles H. Ball

Charles H. Ball, age 94, of Johnstown, Ohio, passed peacefully in his sleep, Saturday, November 30, 2019. He was born in Pine Knot, Kentucky, March 19, 1925, the 13th of 15 children. He was a WWll veteran (Army, Medic Tec5), a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, a proud scoutmaster, a gardener, and a retiree from Boeing (formerly North American Aviation) where he helped build military aircrafts and the Space Shuttle Enterprise.

He is predeceased by William C. Ball (father), Bertha (Stephens) Ball (mother), Dorothy (Shackelford) Ball (wife), and 13 siblings. Survived by his sons Colsen Ball and Denzel Ball, sister Pina Engelhoff, 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

His wish was for there to be no viewing or service, and we are honoring that wish. Instead, there will be a "Celebration of His Life" at a later date yet to be determined.

He frequently used his garden to help those who were facing some financial difficulties, and he was very proud of his military service. So, the family requests that (in his honor) donations be made to your local Food Banks and to Veterans relief organizations. Help your neighbors, too.
