Dr. Charles Franklin Emert Jr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord on June 16, 2025, at the age of 91.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 71 years, Lorretta, who was the love of his life and constant companion in faith and adventure. He also leaves behind his four children — Mark, Michelle, Melinda, and Marilyn — along with numerous loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members, and cherished friends.

Chuck was a man of many gifts: a gifted athlete who played football for the United States Air Force, a talented musician who played the bass, trumpet, accordion, and sousaphone, and a joyful singer whose love of music brightened every gathering.

A passionate teacher and faithful servant, Chuck dedicated his life to ministry as both a pastor and Bible professor, sharing the gospel across the world with humility, wisdom, and love. He walked closely with Christ, and his deep devotion gave those around him great peace. Lorretta often said she never worried when Chuck made a decision — she knew he was listening to the Lord.

Chuck was known for his gentle spirit, kind eyes, and constant smile. He had a gift for humor, always ready with a clever joke or quick one-liner that made others feel seen and loved. He was a protector, a provider, and a pillar of strength for his family — leading them not only with his words, but with his life.

He found joy in the simple moments and created a legacy of laughter, faith, and love.

His favorite verse — “O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together” (Psalm 34:3) — was not only a scripture he cherished, but the life verse he and Lorretta shared. Their love and their ministry were rooted in that deep, shared desire to glorify God — together.

Chuck’s legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched. Though he will be deeply missed, his impact remains — in every smile, every song, every moment of joy that points us back to the goodness of God.

Per the family's request, no services will be held at this time.

Arrangements entrusted to the care of the NEWCOMER NORTHEAST CHAPEL 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43231.
