Charles Guy Contizano, 82, of Marysville, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, August 10, 2025. He was born on May 5, 1943, to Mary Grace and Charles Contizano of Ostrander.
Charles was a devoted family man. He spent many summers traveling to national parks across the United States with his family and a pop-up camper in tow. He was often seen at Marysville High School, enjoying his daughter's musical performances and cheering for his son's wrestling matches. Charles was an avid storyteller and enjoyed reminiscing about fond memories of Thanksgivings spent in Cleveland with his grandchildren. He and his beloved wife Kathleen were married for over 40 years.
Charles was a man of deep faith who would give the shirt off his back and the last dime in his pocket to help those in need. He devoutly attended the Church of Christ in Marysville. He was passionate about volunteering and donating to the community Hope Center. Charles was a proud veteran who served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He had a lengthy career as a corrections officer and later worked in private security for Securitas.
Charles is survived by his grandchildren, including Opal Amelia Contizano and Charles John Contizano; his sister, Wilma (Robert) Carter of Ostrander; and his dear friend and caregiver, Sunnie May of Delaware. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen (Poland) Contizano; his children, Charles Eric (Sally) Contizano and Laura Ann (Bob) Prater; and his siblings. Anita (Richard) Dove of Springboro and James (Brenda) Contizano of Columbus.
Interment at St. Mary Cemetery.
