Mike Hardy, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026, in his hometown of Columbus, Ohio. He was born on February 13, 1954, in Columbus, and made a lasting impact on everyone he met.
Mike had a fulfilling career as a truck driver for 50 years. His outgoing personality made him a friend to many, as there was hardly anyone he did not like. Mike’s jovial spirit could light up the room, and his friendships spanned well beyond just acquaintances.
He served honorably in the United States Navy aboard the USS Towers, a proud veteran who carried his military service with dignity and grace. After his time in the Navy, he enjoyed various hobbies. Mike was a passionate fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes football team, cheering enthusiastically for his favorite players. He also found joy in playing euchre at the VFW and hosting family poker games, where laughter and competitiveness filled the air. Mike was an avid reader.
Family was everything to Mike. He cherished his beloved wife, Brenda, and their three sons, Wes, Jarrod, and Shannon. He took immense pride in being a grandfather, giving his grandkids, Halle, Hudson, Emily, Tristen, Joey, Haydn, and his two great-grandchildren a hard time in the most loving way. The bonds he created with his family were unbreakable and filled with love and laughter.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Charles Hardy. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, camaraderie, and love that will continue to inspire all those who knew him. His presence will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by his family, friends, and the countless lives he touched throughout his remarkable journey.
Per his wish, cremation will take place and there will be no public services at this time.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
