Charles K. Hartle

Charles Kenneth Hartle, 84, of Pickerington, died December 3,2014. Born August 13,1930 to the late Darrell and Maryanna Hartle in Garrett, Indiana.
He was a 1948 graduate of Garrett High School and a very proud and enthusiastic 1953 Wildcat graduate of Northwestern University. He began his life at that time with the late Laura Thomas Hartle in the US Air Force during the Korean war. "Chuck" then went on to an advertising career as Executive Vice President with the Byer and Bowman group. He was a member of the Columbus Advertising Federation for many years serving a term as President. At his retirement he was a part of the Bob Evans Farms Corporation and had the distinction of penning the original jingle and tag line for "Down on the Farm." He also enjoyed writing ad copy and has had several short stories and articles published. His post retirement pride was as a partner with his son, Scott, at Rod's Western Palace. He was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Levi Teeters and stepson Michael Lemon.
He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Bonnie Lemon Hartle, his children Scott (Karen) Hartle, Sandra (Richard) Franz and Beth Popovics, 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Chuck was a very dedicated husband, and unconditional father. One of the greatest joys of his life was serving in any and all capacities in missionary service with his special friend Martin Guerena. He was a true Gentleman and Man of God.
A Memorial Celebration will be held on Saturday, December 13, at 11a.m., in Northwest Chapel Church, 6700 Rings Road, Dublin, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimers Association, 1739 Dublin Road, Columbus, Ohio 43215 in his name.
